
Jeannie Bunton is the vice president of external relations group at the International Center for Research on Women (ICRW). A key organizational spokesperson, she promotes ICRW’s leadership in the field of gender and development.
As vice president of external relations, Bunton coordinates with program teams, the office of the president and the office of the chief operating officer to facilitate external relations with donors, media and the NGO community.
Bunton joins ICRW with an extensive career in communications and public affairs, coming most recently from the Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association, Wall Street’s top lobbying organization, where she served as vice president of strategic communications. Bunton also worked as a senior counselor at Policy Impact Communications Inc., where she advised an array of clients on media relations, message development and government relations strategies. Before Policy Impact, Bunton spent ten years at the Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB) where she held positions as communications specialist, press secretary, director of communications, and director of press and public relations. Prior to CPB, Bunton worked in the administration of President George H. W. Bush on media affairs and presidential speechwriting. She is the founding editor of her hometown newspaper, The Bluffton Eccentric. Bunton is a member of the College of Charleston Department of Communication Advisory Council.
