
KATHLEEN BARNETT
SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT FOR STRATEGIC INITIATIVES
Kathleen Barnett is senior vice president for strategic initiatives. In this role, Barnett is responsible for research and development of new strategic priorities to achieve Strategic Plan goals, formulation of recommendations for implementation, and strategic advice on ensuring institutional impact.
Barnett has global experience in research and organizational management. Prior to joining ICRW in 2001, Barnett worked as an international consultant on public finance and tax issues in Brazil, Bulgaria, Indonesia, and various countries of West and sub-Saharan Africa for agencies such as USAID, the Inter-American Development Bank and the World Bank. Before that, she was the Director of Research for New York City’s Office of Tax Policy.
Barnett represents ICRW on various national and international boards, including the National Council for Research on Women (NCRW) and Women Thrive Worldwide. She holds professional affiliations with the American Economic Association, the International Association for Feminist Economics, and the Women’s Foreign Policy Group. She is the author with Caren Grown of “Gender Impacts of Government Revenue Collection: The Case of Taxation”
