Program/Research Specialist

The Program/Research Specialist will be responsible for the overall management of the project – Family Violence Prevention Fund (FVPF) with key technical focus on monitoring and evaluation.

 

Primary Duties:

  • Lead the project - Family Violence Prevention Fund(FVPF) and work as a leader and senior team member with technical and management responsibility for the project including conceptualization of study design, instrument development, coordination with implementing partners, data management and analysis, and dissemination of project results in presentations, reports, and published papers.
  • Analyze and synthesize research findings on complex issues and develops products relevant to a range of audiences.
  • Responsible for project staff management, partnership engagement, budgetary management and planning.
  • Interview, negotiate and liaise with high level government and non government officials.
  • Demonstrate strategic thinking skills and proficiency in advancing ICRW's outreach goals through one or both of the following: Increasing knowledge about ICRW's work through publishing in journals and other publications and increasing visibility and impact of ICRW's work through communications and advocacy efforts.

Required Education, Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:

  • Ph.D. in a relevant discipline (Demography, Economics, Sociology, etc.) or masters with commensurate experience.
  • Minimum five (5) years of post-doctoral research experience or eight (8) years experience for candidates with a master’s degree.
  • Experience in conducting research and managing research projects in developing countries. Should have experience of working on issues related to women’s empowerment and adolescent health.
  • Exposure to on-the-ground interventions and to the challenges of program implementation and evaluation is essential.
  • Strong qualitative analysis, exposure to research and evaluation with proficiency in recognized statistical.
  • Package (i.e. SPSS, STATA) as well as ATLASTi for qualitative data analysis.
  • Ability to conceptualize, analyze, synthesize lessons learnt and document results.
  • Project management skills including project planning, team mentoring, partner management and budget management.
  • Experience of working in South-East Asian countries is desirable.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation abilities.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively with professionals at different levels in varied geographical and organizational settings, including colleagues, partners, and donor organizations.
  •  Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and projects while working as a part of a team.
  • The incumbent should be willing to travel frequently for official work.
