What Is REBUILD?

REBUILD is a three-country study in India, Kenya, and Uganda that sought to understand how COVID-19-related health and economic shocks — and the policy responses to them — interact with pre-existing gender and other social norms to impact livelihoods, the experience of gender-based violence, and sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) outcomes for women who work in the urban informal economy. As the REBUILD project comes to a close, this global event will bring together researchers from each of the three countries to present key insights and themes found throughout the project.
