Plan International supported ICRW to facilitate a workshop and redevelop a program model and program document for 18+: Ending Child Marriages in Southern Africa, Plan’s sub-regional program that aims to reduce child marriages in four participating countries of Southern Africa, namely Malawi, Mozambique, Zambia and Zimbabwe. ICRW drew on its experience in both child marriage and gender-transformative research and programming, as well as program evaluation, to advise Plan and facilitate the development of a four-country program to prevent child marriage and mitigate harmful effects of the practice on individuals, families and communities.  Workshop participants included experts from the field of child marriage programming, Plan staff from the global office and all four country teams, and key stakeholders representing research, programs or policies that are relevant to the contexts in the four target countries.
