Rachel Oguntola
Rachel received her Master of Arts degree in International Development with a concentration in Social Enterprise from American University and her Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with Special Attainments in Commerce from Washington and Lee University.
Rachel (she/her) is a Project Manager with ICRW Advisors based in Washington, D.C. In this role, Rachel combines her private sector background with her technical expertise in international development to research and support gender-mainstreaming efforts for clients looking to be more gender-equitable in their workforce, supply chain, and communities.
Rachel’s day-to-day responsibilities involve conducting technical desk research and gathering data on the business case for gender equity, providing technical assistance on a variety of projects, performing qualitative and quantitative data and trends analyses, and using data visualization tools to communicate complex ideas and analyses into digestible formats to meet client needs. She has contributed to the development of gender-smart investing case studies, highlighting women-owned entrepreneurs and their enterprises and opportunities to advance gender equity across the horticulture value chain. Rachel has also helped craft and develop self-diagnostic assessments, theory of change frameworks, and KPIs to help clients refine their existing gender and sustainability strategies as well as develop impactful gender initiatives and programming within and across their business operations.
As part of ICRW Advisors’ diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) workstream, Rachel has aided the design, development, and facilitation of an interactive unconscious bias training workshop for corporate clients and their employees to identify and mitigate unconscious bias at work as well as foster inclusive workplaces and a sense of belonging for employees.
Prior to joining ICRW, Rachel worked as the Communications Officer for the African Visionary Fund where she managed the Fund’s internal and external communications strategy, digital and social media marketing, and donor engagement support. She has previous work and consulting experience with notable firms like McLarty Associates, Ashoka, Warrior Centric Health, BlackRock, The Coca-Cola Company, and the US Chamber of Commerce. At the US Chamber, she helped develop the U.S.-Africa Business Center’s inaugural corporate social responsibility report highlighting the US and African business community’s efforts to support women’s empowerment, youth education, workforce development, and health advancement across Africa. Rachel is passionate about amplifying the issues faced by women, girls, and youth, and advocates for mobilizing private sector resources to tackle these issues through inclusive, innovative solutions.
