It is now widely accepted that empowering women and girls requires some involvement of men and boys. What remains elusive is what level of involvement and how best to integrate men and boys’ engagement strategies (i.e. stand-alone or combined interventions) into empowerment interventions for women and girls. How do men and boys view these programs and express preferences for engagement?

  • What are the perceptions and preferences that men and boys have regarding different program approaches?
  • What are promising ways of engaging them in girls’ empowerment work?
